Heavy floods in south of Thailand
Heavy rainfall is causing severe floods in Koh Samui and other parts of the south of Thailand. Three people have drowned and a fisherman is missing as heavy rain pounds the southern provinces.
The Thai meteorological department has issued a warning announcement for all of the south. Saying people should beware of severe weather and possible flash flood, and all transport should proceed with caution. The stronger winds lead to waves 2-3 meters high in the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
The heavy rain is caused by the active low pressure over Malaysia and the strong northeast monsoon across the Gulf and the South of Thailand. The floods affect thousands of people.
